All-105 is a Pittsburgh Sports Now series profiling each of the 105 members of the Pitt 2024 training camp roster.

Matt Altsman, redshirt senior offensive lineman from Central Catholic in Pittsburgh, Pa.

2023 season: Altsman did not play in any games last season

Stats: Altsman did not record any stats last season

Camp outlook: Altsman has experience at center, which will allow him to work directly with the quarterbacks, but he will work primarily with the third team unit

Projected role: Pitt has a lot of offensive linemen on the roster, without a whole bunch of experience, to be fair, but he will be unlikely to serve as anything more than a reserve lineman

Altsman (6-foot, 285 pounds) starred at Central Catholic, like his brother Josh, and walked on to the team in 2020. He’s made one appearance during his time at Pitt, getting some snaps in a 2021 win against New Hampshire. He hasn’t taken any snaps since.

He works with the quarterbacks on game days, usually snapping to the third or fourth-string quarterback on the roster and will continue to do so this season.

Altsman is entering his final season of eligibility and should once again serve as a reserve option and practice pivot.
