Houston Texans’ Tank Dell Gives Great Update on His Status for 2024
Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Tank Dell was supposed to be one of the cornerstone wideouts for the Houston Texans last season. However, he suffered an injury that kept him out of the team’s first playoff appearance with CJ Stroud as the starting quarterback.

Now that the Texans’ Super Bowl window has possibly opened, there’s no better time for the explosive wide receiver to make a return to the team and help them start an improbable run for the Lombardi trophy.

His most recent update should make fans more than happy about his condition in the upcoming season.

Houston Texans’ Tank Dell is ready to play in 2024

NFL.com’s Eric Edholm wrote about the progress of Dell’s recovery from a fractured fibula. According to the man himself, he’s more than ready to rejoin his teammates and improve on what was an impressive 2023.

Edholm writes:

“It’s been going great,” Dell said, per the team’s website. “I’ve been hitting the road full speed. Great recovery.”

Dell hopes to rejoin the Texans at some point this offseason. Their program begins April 15 at the team’s facility, where he has been regularly rehabbing.

He also thanked the team’s training staff on helping him feel confident about his body again.
“I’m giving all the props to our training staff and our strength staff,” Dell said. “They’ve been getting me on the right road and I feel like I’m back and ready. I’m waiting on the lights to shine again and just to go out there as a team and go complete the mission.”

How will Dell impact the Texans on his return?

While there’s still a small sample size on how Tank Dell performed as a rookie, the numbers suggest that he has terrific synergy with Stroud and DeMeco Ryan’s game plans.

In just 11 games, he caught an impressive 47 passes for 709 yards and seven touchdowns. If it wasn’t for his injury, it wouldn’t have been weird to expect him to get even better numbers.

It will be interesting to see how the Texans play next season with Tank fully healthy and ready to receive catches from Stroud.
